As part of TIAST Group’s journey to achieve the concept of agricultural industrialization in the West African region, TIAST Group has extended its services to Guinea Conakry and has held its maiden conference to start its industrialization agenda in the country.

This is in line with the company’s 10 year vision of creating 1,000 factories, providing 1 million jobs and generating an annual trade review of 10 billion dollars.

TIAST West Africa Company Limited, which is headquartered in Accra, Ghana, has been in contact with Guinean agri-investors since April 2021, with the purpose of establishing business partnerships. The International Business Managers of TIAST Group have established partnerships with these investors and as a result, the company is preparing to build processing factories of various agricultural products in the country for these investors.

In order to honor its part of the contract and expand its services in the four regions of Guinea, TIAST Group has opened a subsidiary in Conakry, the capital of the country, and the maiden edition of TIAST Group’s conference was held on 4th October, 2022 in Conakry, in Kaloum Hotel.

The event was held under the theme “Agricultural Revolution for Guinea: Creating New Wealth through Industrialization”. The event witnessed the presence of the Representative of the Prime Minister of the republic, Representative of various Ministries, the representative of the Guinean embassy in Ghana in Accra. Other participants included Guinean authorities, officials of financial institutions, renowned agro-investors of the country, the Management of TIAST Group and other dignitaries.

TIAST Group is set to establish more agro-processing factories in the country under its programme named, “One Plantation One Factory”, and is expected to create more employment opportunities, increase the revenue base of the country and ultimately achieve agricultural industrialization in the country.

 

The main purpose of TIAST Group in Guinea is to add value to agriculture through industrialization in Guinea. The set up of TIAST Guinea has taken a big step towards the achievement of the millennium goals. The company does not limit its activities to the processing of cassava starch but also to the processing of rubber, tomato processing, pineapple processing, corn processing, sisal processing and other crops.

According to the Director of International Business at TIAST Guinea, Madam Irene Sackey, she placed emphasis on the key aim of TIAST Group in Guinea which is to add more value to its agricultural produce. She encouraged investors in the country to partner with TIAST Group and help the West African region achieve agricultural industrialization.

The agricultural expert, Dr. Habib Kourouma, highlighted the qualities and other uses of cassava apart from extracting cassava starch. He continued his remarks by highlighting the various uses of cassava starch such as its use in paints, canned food, pharmaceuticals, textiles and various industries in the world. This conference calls on other agro-investors to join TIAST Guinea to develop the value chain of agricultural industrialization in Guinea and in all West African countries.
