TIAST Group - TIAST Ghana signs MOU with Pentecost University

TIAST Ghana has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Pentecost University to foster collaboration between the two parties on February 3, 2022.

The event which took place at the Phase II Auditorium was held under the theme “Technical and Financial Support for Agro Processing” and it afforded TIAST Ghana the opportunity to communicate its key policies and special packages the organization has put in place for the students.

The Head of Training and Development at TIAST Ghana, Mr. Oliver Isaac Ocansey stated that the MoU between TIAST Ghana and Pentecost University is one which is geared towards training students with practical skills and knowledge to be able to champion the localization agenda.

He urged the students present to take advantage of the training, mentorship, and exchange programs that will be organized by TIAST Ghana. “We have started partnering with Universities to give students practical training, field trips, mentorship programs, exchange programs, and National Service placements, thus all students should take advantage of this opportunity,” he said.

The Vice Chancellor of Pentecost University, Rev. Kwabena Agyapong-Kodua addressed the students and placed emphasis on how agricultural industrialization can help foster growth and development in the country.

According to him, he is excited about the offer TIAST Ghana is bringing on board, especially the localization agenda where more of the locals will be trained to man and operate the factories TIAST Ghana is setting up in Ghana and the West African continent. “I am excited about the TIAST agenda due to their localization agenda,” he stated.

He further added that, “We recommend Pentecost University students to TIAST Group due to our research-led orientation.” He said this basing it on the premise that, “The students of the University are trained to identify and solve problems thus they are good candidates to learn and bring on board innovative ideas which will help transform the agricultural sector for a collective benefit.”

In a speech delivered by the Director of International Business at TIAST Ghana, Mr. Leo Chen, he assured Pentecost University that TIAST Ghana is always on board to cooperate with the University to be able to train and equip students of the University with practical skills and knowledge through its mentorship programs, exchange programs and the 10-week Master Class.

At the event, an International Business Manager at TIAST Ghana, Ms. Irene Sackey spoke extensively on the importance of value-addition in the agricultural sector. She reoriented the mindsets of the students to cherish the significant value agriculture adds to the transformation of the country. Ms. Sackey admonished the students to take up agriculture seriously, so as to reduce the rate of unemployment. In furtherance to her speech, she disclosed that graduates should see agriculture as a sector capable of transforming the lives of individuals.

The closing remark was addressed by the President of the Student Representative Council (SRC) of the University, who in his speech thanked TIAST Ghana for the great initiative it has taken.

In attendance were; the Vice Chancellor of Pentecost University, Rev. Kwabena Agyapong Kodua, the Ag. Director of Procurement of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA), Mr. Ebenezer Acheampong, the Director of International Business Relation, Mr. Leo Chen, the Chief Executive Officer of Honghai House, Madam Tina Liu, the Head of Training and Development at TIAST Ghana, Mr. Oliver Isaac Ocansey, an International Business Manager at TIAST Ghana, Ms. Irene Sackey, the Chaplain of TIAST Ghana, Pastor Kingsley Addai, a Business Development Manager at TIAST Ghana, Mr. Augustine Esamoah, a Business Development Executive, Mr. Dickson Anane and some other dignitaries.
