TIASTGROUP

Cassava Starch Processing

TIAST Group specializes in the industrial transformation of agricultural products across Africa, with a strong focus on cassava processing into starch. Leveraging modern technology and end-to-end engineering services, TIAST provides turnkey cassava starch production plants that enable local farmers and agripreneurs to convert raw cassava tubers into high-quality industrial-grade starch.

The Cassava starch production begins with thoroughly cleaning the cassava using dry and multi-stage washing systems. The cleaned cassava is then crushed and rasped into slurry, with recycled water used to maintain efficiency. The slurry is passed through a desanding unit to remove heavy impurities such as sand and metal before undergoing extraction in centrifuge sieves, where starch is separated from fibers and residues. The crude starch is further concentrated and refined using multi-stage hydro cyclones to achieve high purity. Finally, the refined starch is dewatered, dried, sieved, automatically packed, and stored for distribution.

TIAST’s facilities are equipped to process several tons of cassava daily, producing starch suitable for use in the food, pharmaceutical, textile, and paper industries. Through its innovative approach, TIAST not only boosts agricultural value addition but also promotes agro-industrial development by providing training, technical support, and market linkage to farmers and processors.

By setting up fully automated cassava starch factories in Ghana and across West Africa, TIAST Group is empowering local economies, reducing post-harvest losses, and increasing export potential, all while supporting Africa’s broader industrialization agenda.
